After the gold rush there is often a lot of gold left in the ground as fortune-seekers move on to the next big discovery.
Sometimes it just takes time, or improved mining and discovery methods, but smart explorers return to past producing areas and can find opportunity there.
Such is the case with the town of Wawa, home of Ontario’s first gold rush in 1897. The area is home to a recent infusion of mining resources as old mines are re-opened, historical resources are expanded, and new discoveries are made.
