About the position
Reporting to the Project Geologist, the successful candidate will assist the Project Geologist with the field implementation and execution of the exploration programs of the company. The Geologist-in-Training will be responsible for carrying out a variety of geological and operational assignments at the Company’s exploration projects. This is an offer for a full-time salaried position that includes benefits.

About the company
Red Pine Exploration is a junior gold exploration company listed on the TSX-V that is currently exploring and developing the Wawa Gold Project located 2 km east of the town of Wawa, Ontario. Primary Responsibilities

  • Logging and sampling of exploration drill core and geological interpretations from the observations.
  • Assist with the tracking of drilling progress and performance on a daily basis as needed.
  • Conduct inspections of drill sites prior, during, and after drilling has been completed.
  • Assist core technicians with geotechnical logging, sample preparation, and the movement and management of core.
  • Contribute to geological mapping/prospecting/sampling when required.
  • Prepare assessment reports including the creation of maps and figures as required.
  • Ensure all relevant QA/QC protocols and mineral exploration best practices are being effectively followed during the completion of project tasks.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable government standards and regulations.
  • Comply with laws governing mineral exploration and internal company policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Geology or related Earth Science program
  • At least two (2) years of experience in mineral exploration, including activities like field mapping and core logging
  • Registered or ability to be registered with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO)
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work alone
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work in a camp setting on a rotational basis
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • First Aid and ATV/UTV certification would be an asset
  • Knowledge of QGIS, Target, and MxDeposit logging software is considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • The position is based at the Wawa Gold Project, which is approximately 2 kilometers east of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
  • This position is rotation-based in a camp setting for accommodations.
